PROGRAMME AND GRANTS OFFICER
BACKGROUND

persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. As a

with the Disability Movement and maximising our impact through a
coordinated mix of inclusive community-based programmes, local to
global advocacy and delivering inclusion advice to other
organisations. CBM Ireland?s current programme portfolio includes
projects in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Madagascar and Indonesia.
CBM Ireland are recruiting a Programme and Grants Officer to join our
small, dynamic team. The Programme and Grants Officer will report to
the Programme Manager while working closely with Programme and
Fundraising colleagues and with CBM Global Thematic and Country Teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Grow CBM Ireland?s grant income portfolio through partnerships
with institutional donors, charitable trusts, foundations and major
donors
* Working closely with the Programme Manager and Country Teams,
develop quality results-based funding proposals to the EU, Irish Aid
and other large institutional donors
* Manage quality relationships with trusts and foundations
* Identify new grant funding opportunities and build new donor
partnerships
* Develop high quality funding applications and reports for
institutional donors, charitable trusts, foundations and major donors
* Produce high quality stories of change and case studies to feed
into communications and fundraising work
* Support the Programme Manager and Country Teams in managing,
monitoring and expanding CBM Ireland?s overseas programme portfolio
* Collaborate with colleagues to design quality, inclusive
results-based projects
* Support and monitor the implementation of projects
* Support Country Teams with donor relationship management (EU
delegations, embassies and other locally based donors)
* Support in reporting and compliance to CBM Global and
institutional donors
* General responsibilities
* Contribute towards meeting best practice in line with CBM policies
and sector wide approaches, particularly with regards to
accountability and safeguarding
* Represent and further the vision, mission and values of CBM
* Represent CBM at relevant fora
* Contribute to own personal development and training to meet the
needs of CBM Ireland
* Support the wider organisation and undertake general tasks as may
be required
PERSON SPECIFICATION
_Essential_
* Relevant third level degree or equivalent experience
* Minimum of 2 years? experience in international development
projects
* A proven track record in securing grants and maintaining ongoing
relationships with charitable trusts, foundations and institutional
donors
* Proficiency in results-based management/project cycle management
and monitoring and evaluation
* Donor compliance and reporting experience
* Experience in developing budgets and financial management.
* A keen interest in rights-based international development and
social justice
* A high degree of self-sufficiency and initiative, and the ability
to innovate in complex situations and work well as part of a team
* Excellent organisational, verbal and written communication skills.
* Willingness and availability to travel to project countries
_Desired_
* Experience in engaging with Irish Aid and EU grant mechanisms.
* Project coordination experience
* Knowledge of disability in International Development and
Humanitarian Action
* Overseas work experience in International Development and/or
Humanitarian Action
* Working proficiency in French

CONTRACT: Permanent, after satisfactory completion of probation period
